The division has been awarding a dissertation award every two years since 2011. The award recognizes an outstanding dissertation that has been submitted to an academic institution in Germany, Austria or Switzerland and is of great scientific interest, has a high degree of originality and makes a significant contribution to the further development of the theory and/or practice of media education.
